Narrative inquiry via weblogging

Thank you for your initial interest. I would like to tell you more about how this narrative inquiry project will operate. 

·        Privacy: I will provide you with a restricted weblog managed by humansWeb – an HK government-sanctioned charity I run. Only you and me (the super admin of humansWeb) can access this weblog. 

·        Theme: You can explore an issue that matters to you (this can be a challenge, a problem, or a topic that you are invited to explore). You and I will negotiate a theme before you start blogging.

·        Duration: You will have one month in this guided self-paced process.

·        Process: Week 1 and Week 2 will focus on unfolding your story, Week 3 will explore treasures, and Week 4 is the follow-up. Write any posts you like; you can write about the issue itself, the positive impact of that issue, or the negative impact of that issue.

·        Interactions: I will often read your blog and chat with you online once a week. After each Week, my AI assistant and I will study your journal entries. This includes recording, translating, analyzing, and understanding your feelings. Then, I will put together these findings and give you feedback. This feedback will help you decide whether to move to the next Phase or go back to a previous one. If you have problems and need feedback, you can also email me.

·        Emergence: Yet, I should remind you again that this is research, and it has its scope and constraints. If you have recalled something very disturbing, you may consider professional counseling; some resources recommended by HKBU are available here.

·        Questionnaires: I will also invite you to complete short questionnaires at different times in this process.

·        Ownership: After the research period, you can decide what to do with the blog, for example, destroy it, archive it, or own it under your Google account.
